Sometimes, it breaks

28 02 2008

A student was crying this afternoon, and I tried to reach out to her. In the end, she just took a tissue and went back to the classroom, as it was the end of the day and she still had a few things to do before she could go home. Now, on MSN, she’s saying that the experience was really touching, and she loves that I’m so kind to her.

This is one of the reasons why I got into teaching in the first place. I love this aspect of it.

it’s great that u find meaning in your work and i guess that’s one of the most profound motivations to pull you out of bed every morning, right? recently one of my undergrad classmates majoring in Product Design was thinking of becoming a high school teacher just because of money. and i think if she doesn’t have any passion on the job itself, she’ll burn out very very soon. all i can do is wishing her good luck~
