Abstinence for the female in us

18 06 2008

For some reason, looking at the rain today just makes the situation that little bit worse. The news recently has been exclusively depressing, and thinking about the rest of the week seems too daunting a task. So instead of getting down to work, I’ve been surfing the Internet. And then I read about Kmart’s abstinence sweatpants. I nearly cried. I don’t understand how generations of people before us have got us so far forward, but the interesting thing is just how little we have truly moved; the description that Kmart had was removed, and the timing I had in finding it couldn’t have come more significantly: after reading about it on Feministing.

This encouraged me though:

“Not a sigh is breathed, not a pain felt, not a grief pierces the soul, but the throb vibrates to the Father’s heart.”
Ellen G. White

Which is why we have hope, and why love wins.
